Vacation Plans this Summer
The summer months are quickly approaching and my wife and I are off on our first vacation together as a married couple. Unfortunately the costs of our large wedding set us back a bit so we were unable to take our honeymoon immediately after the big day. Personally, its been over ten years since I’ve visited the mainland United States so this trip will definitely be a great one for me.
We basically have three major stops during our vacation. Our first stop is to the state of Virginia to visit my wife’s brother before his deployment to Iraq. We have plans to take a road trip up to Washington D.C. for a few days for some major sightseeing while spending our weekend at several amusement parks including Busch Gardens in Williamsburg and King’s Dominion in Richmond.

Speed Racer (Theaters)
The Wachowski Brothers have struck again! Speed Racer was 100% pure unadulterated eye candy. Everything from the bright lush colors, smooth animation, and great action sequences make this film an extremely worthwhile experience and a pure adrenaline rush. My only wish would have been to see this in the IMAX theaters rather than just at the regular box office, but I was extremely impressed with the outcome overall.
The movie starts off fairly quickly and within minutes of the opening credits we get some incredible adrenaline pumping racing done in the most unrealistic manner possible. These highly futuristic vehicles masquerading as race cars are seen flipping, jumping, tumbling, crashing, exploding, and roaring toward the checkered flag. Its was truly a spectacle to see the attention to detail the producers put into the cars and the race tracks, and the cinematography will completely blow your mind away.

Gears of War 2 Confirmed for Pre-Orders
After playing through the original Gears of War recently, I seriously can’t wait for its sequel! I had stumbled across a ton of rumors about a release date on the internet but many of them turned out to be false.
Today, while browsing Amazon.com I noticed Gears 2 was available for pre-order. I figure since Amazon is taking pre-orders with a release date set at November 30, 2008, it must be legit. Im thinking of picking up the Gears of War 2 Limited Edition. Bottomline is, I’m not missing out on the debut release like I did when Call of Duty 4 first came out. I must have been the only one in my XL clan without a copy and I ended up having to wait a month after its release to get one! That sure ain’t going to happen a 2nd time!

Bryant finally wins MVP Award!
According to the Los Angeles times, Kobe Bryant has officially won the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award for the 2007-2008 season.
It took 12 seasons, but Kobe Bryant has finally been selected the NBA’s most valuable player, The Times has learned.
Sources familiar with the outcome who were not authorized to speak publicly about the award until the official announcement from the league said Commissioner David Stern will be in Los Angeles next week to present the trophy to Bryant.
I wrote a short article on why Bryant should be this years MVP. Congratulations Mr. Bryant!!! Now its time to bring a title home to your fans!
